Farm introduction

Farm introduction

One of our biggest and proudest passions is the ability to grow our own food. We have built a beautiful and bountiful garden on our property and summer of 2020 we were able to put it to use! I absolutely love teaching our children where our food comes from and how it grows. I will post about our in depth growing process once we start out seeds in just a few short weeks. This being an introduction to our property layout and a chance to meet the animals I have added captioned photos for you to browse- happy reading!

This photo is a favorite of mine- our raised garden beds with our animals in the distance.
Meet Optimus(prime) and Buzz(lightyear)! Of course our boys named them. They are our goats which we hope to breed in the future. Our children especially love taking care of them and we enjoy giving them that responsibility.
The chickens that started it all. We have had chickens for 7 years now and our flock has grown to 34 total. We have a variety of breeds that produce the most beautiful eggs which we sell at our roadside stand. Free range and organically fed- we love them!

These few pictures are just a peak at what we have worked so hard for and have accomplished thus far. If you have read my opening blog post you will see we have only owned our home for a few short year and this property has had a complete facelift since! I can’t wait to share more in depth-

    • Love this Blog !! The details with everything do not go unnoticed. I love the simplicity of it & if I wanted to do a DIY – you have the links accessible that take you straight to the site. Beautiful farm & Animals. Look at those gorgeous eggs !! Next trip to NJ I will be coming to visit this Farm & will have purchase a dozen. The animals look so healthy & well kept. Awesome job (boys) and Mom & Dad!! Teaching your sons how to live off the land & the daily responsibilities it takes. That itself is incredible & rewarding. Looking forward to seeing the new Friday posts & continuing to follow the journey as it grows.
